Breaking: Obiano Maps Out Plans to Celebrate a Non Existing Feast
The Outgoing Governor of Anambra State , Chief Willie Obiano has mapped out plans to celebrate his home town, "olili Obibia Eri" - an Aguleri local festival with a huge sum amount. A source close to the Governor who confided to our reporter discloses that plans are on high speed to make this year festivals one that the community would remember in a long run.
The Festival was said to be a new initiative of the Governor's home town to lay claim that it is the over all Ancestral home of all Igbos. Our Correspondent who visited various places in Aguleri and other Neighboring Villages of Nando, Igbariam and Nteje were reliably informed that the festivals was of a recent inventive, and had not be existing until few years back .
In the view of Ifeanyi Nweke, a Native of aguleri, whom our Reporters approached at the Aguleri Juncture Round about. "The Festivals started few years back!" he said with air of assurance " But there is every need to tell the World that Aguleri is indeed the home of all Igbos.
Our History confirms that Eri, father of Igbos once lived here. We have Obugad! Hence our community leaders now arranged the festival to celebrate the coming of our father Eri, who was the Ancestral father of all Igbos"
A Retired Principal from Nando, who gave us his own opinion but would rather not want his name to be mentioned in the print laughed out the whole exercise, which he described as ridiculous & charade. "In Omambala, this is the first time that I am hearing such festivals" He remarked. " This is charade and Ridiculous to say the least. We Know the festivals associated with Aguleri and to be frank, this is not one of them." A visit to Nteje and discussion with a Student named Emma Nwaigwe, who claimed to be a final year Student of History seems to confirm that the community is aware of the festivals. "But am actually did not know when it started" he Said. "
Our Reporter also gathered that Invitation cards has also been sent to all Igwes & Town Union Presidents in the state as well as notable Igbo personalities to attend the event. According to our reporters, high profiled adverts booked in various TV and radio stations via State Government sponsorship.
At the time of writing this news, we are yet to ascertain if Invitation has been extended to the Igwes and Town Union Presidents of Agukwu Nri and Umueri Communities of Anaocha and Anambra East Local government areas respectively- the two communities that are in logger head with the Governor's home town over her claim of been the ancestral home of the Igbos
