Our Reporters gathered that the various communities leaders across the party are not happy with the disposition of the Aguleri born SA, whom they term an imposition from the Governor, who is also from the same hometown with the SA. Some of these leaders have vowed to work against the party, if the party go ahead to field him.
"Apga should not be seen as Town Union Organization, where everyone would work for a party but when it will comes to reward time, one community would take it all." Onuora Chinwuba , a Community leader from Igbariam said.
The Struggle against this seeming imposition has taken over social media, where potential voters from the area are expressing their views. Hon. Obinna Orakwe who obviously is working for a rival candidate who is yet to declare has this to say:
" We need a candidate that can represent us nationally and internationally" He said. He faulted Chief Chinedu Obidigwe qualification and said that the constituency have never been in short supply of qualified man power and hence there is basically no need to go for such candidate.
There is story making round that the Governor and his Aids have been dissuading a powerful politician from the area not to declare his ambition into the said office.
Chinedu Ekwonu, on his part ranked Anambra State high in education, wondered why the state should go for such candidate. "Anambra state is one of the most educated states in Nigeria and must not be compared with any education less developed state just to satisfy your selfish interest.
"Since we have outstanding men and women,why choose a mediocre? " He querried.
Onuorah Anthony, has been on social media crusading that such imposition would spell doom for the party 2019. He also question the source of sudden wealth that the candidate is throwing around.
In One of his post, he asks a pertinent question : " How much is Chinedu Obidigwe's Salary as TC Chairman, SSA that he throws Money Around as if he Makes Money?"
The various communities across Anambra west have also written a petition asking the Governor to withdraw Chinedu Obidigwe from the race, as its the turn of the local government to produce a would be house of representative for the duo local government. The Contents of the letter is not yet fully known as leader from Umuzie anam who claimed anonymity, is on the way to Agu-Awka.
Effort to reach Chief Chinedu Obidigwe prooved abortive as his close friend told our reporters that the politician is busy with his football competition, which he had spent so much money.
