Earlier today, Two members of  UK Parliament (MPs) tabled a bill in the British parliament calling for the United Kingdom government to recognise as a matter of urgency Biafran as independent Country, citing the persecution of her citizens in Nigeria.
The parliamentary motion was calling for the recognition was filed by MPs Tom Elliot and Danny Kinahan of Ulster Unionist Party (UPP),a masses oriented party which is one of the two main unionist political parties in Northern Ireland that have been known for her populist agenda .
The motion is that this “House recognises the calls for the independence of territories that constituted the Biafran republic.”
“The Biafran issue could be improved with the co-operation of the Nigerian government by offering a referendum; and urges the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to use its diplomatic strength to assist in the resolution of this matter.”
The Brief Profiles of the Just Crusaders Calling for Biafra Independence
Tom Elliott:  He is a former British army officer who served during the conflict in Northern Ireland. He is a staunch opponent of Irish unification and gay rights and is a former leader of the UUP. He is married with two children.
Danny Kinahan: He is a new member of parliament who was elected at the last election in May this year. Like Elliott, he is a former soldier and is married with four children.
Behind the Scene...
Earlier, senior Labour MP Harriet Harman sent a letter to British foreign minister Phillip Hammond demanding to know why pro-Biafra activist Nmandi Kanu had been arrested in Nigeria as Harman represents the constituency where Kanu lives in the Uk.
At this point, only Elliott and Kinahan have signed the motion calling for recognition of Biafran's independence. Meanwhile there are pressure by members of Indegenious People of Biafra (IPOB) in United State, calling on Obama to support the call for Referendum that's gathering momentum
